Nokia E75 bundles new e-mail user interface, desktop e-mail functionality and Nokia Messaging services.

Monday, April 06, 2009: Nokia has announced the availability of Nokia E75 which comes with the new e-mail user interface, full desktop e-mail functionality and complete integration of Nokia's e-mail and messaging services. The phone has a slide out QWERTY keyboard and three-step e-mail setup. 

Nokia E75 includes Nokia Messaging -- a service that opens up the world's leading consumer e-mail accounts, including Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and Windows Live Hotmail -- and is joined by Nokia's corporate e-mail clients, Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler, which provide direct access to over 90 per cent of the world's corporate inboxes as well, according to the company.

Monday, April 20, 2009: Lenovo recently introduced its range of slimmest entertainment PCs in India. According to the company, the new products -- Lenovo IdeaCentre A600 all-in-one desktop and the Lenovo IdeaPad Y650 notebook are not only the thinnest in their respective categories, but are loaded with some game-changing features, not seen in the Indian market.

Expands the categories of partners supported by the Security Innovation Alliance to now include systems integrators.

Thursday, April 23, 2009: McAfee, Inc. has announced the expansion of its Security Innovation Alliance (SIA). Since January 2009, McAfee has added 14 new 'McAfee Compatible' solutions from its current SIA partners, including ActivIdentity, AET Europe, Aladdin, Arxan, Catbird, Charismathics, Gemalto, HP, Kobil, Luxtrust, Oberthur Technologies, SCM Microsystems, Secerno and Vasco. 

There are eight new members that have joined the programme as Associate Partners, including Authenex, Cryptotech, eIQnetworks, S21sec, Solidcore, Triumfant and Telos. Across North America and Europe, McAfee now has more than 55 SIA partners committed to helping customers drive operational savings with McAfee Compatible products.

LG is planning to expand Cookie’s availability from 40 to 60 countries as part of its push to hit 10 million in sales worldwide.

Thursday, April 09, 2009: LG Electronics has announced that its full touchscreen handset, LG Cookie (LG-KP500), recorded over two million unit sales worldwide in the five short months since its debut last October despite the global economic downturn. 

According to the company, LG Cookie was designed to allow more people to experience a taste of touch technology at an attractive price, but with advanced features usually found exclusively in premium full touchscreen handsets. More than 1.2 million gourmets have had a taste of LG Cookie in Europe, and 600,000 Cookies have been sold in Asia and the emerging markets, including Latin America. In Korea, LG Cookie is currently the most popular handset with 100,000 units in accumulated sales as of March this year and record one-day sales of 4,500 units, claim the company.

India had the fifth highest number of broadband subscribers in the APJ region in 2008 and the third highest volume of malicious activity.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009: Malicious code activity continued to grow at a record pace throughout 2008, primarily targeting confidential information of computer users. According to its Internet Security Threat Report Volume (ISTR) XIV, Symantec created more than 1.6 million new malicious code signatures in 2008. This equates to more than 60 per cent of the total malicious code signatures ever created by Symantec -- a response to the rapidly increasing volume and proliferation of new malicious code threats. These signatures helped Symantec block an average of more than 245 million attempted malicious code attacks across the globe each month during 2008.
